So you decided to Install or Refinish your hardwood floors, so now what?...
Before any work begins move out all furnishings. Make sure that you have removed any draperies and any descrete items hanging on the wall.
If we are refinishing or finishing the wood floors please remember that there will be dust. We do mask off unused doorways but nothing will be 100% effective. After we apply the finish please stay off the floors for the recommended time. Time varies with the type of finish that you choose.
AFTER YOUR FLOORS ARE DRIED
We recommend that you do not place are rugs or use cleaners on the floor for 2-4 weeks depending on the finish used. For cleaning until then you can used just regular water.
Light furniture can be moved back onto the floors the next day. Try to avoid moving large furniture like hutches, entertainment stands, fish tanks, etc. for 2-3 days
EVERY DAY MAINTENANCE
Keep your floors swept or vacuumed clean. Use a doormat at your entry ways and felt pads under your furniture. This will help extend the lifespan of your floors.
Have your floors recoated every few years as needed with wear. This will help protect the floor which means less refinishing.
